About Us
At HOME, we have a passion for supporting children and families in their educational journey. Whether this be academic or holistic, we strive to be inclusive, ensuring happiness and success for all.
Here’s a little about us and our expertise:
Becky Halkyard
Welcome to HOME! I'm Becky Halkyard, a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience in the field. My journey began in mainstream education, where I honed my skills and passion for teaching. However, my path took a distinctive turn when I found my calling in a specialist provision for autism, where I've dedicated nine fulfilling years. More recently, I have gained experience with more diverse needs, which has extended my knowledge and understanding even further. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of children, particularly those with communication and language differences. Every child, with their unique set of abilities and challenges, has contributed to my growth.
During my time in school settings, I led on writing, reading and phonics across the primary phase where I not only embraced the challenges but also discovered the immense joy that comes with making a positive impact on young minds. My expertise extends beyond the conventional, delving into the realm of sensory processing; I am also proud to be an accredited Lego therapist, utilizing innovative methods to engage and support my students.
Beyond the classroom, my personal life revolves around the simple joys of being outdoors and spending quality time with my family. It is this balance between professional commitment and personal fulfilment that fuels my drive to make a lasting difference in education.
My passion lies in advocating for and supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and I am committed to providing the support they need to succeed. Through my work, I aspire to contribute to a more inclusive and empowering educational landscape.
Together, we strive to create a brighter future for every child, one enriched with understanding, compassion, and tailored support in education.
Charley Caine
Hi I’m Charley Caine, an enthusiastic educator with a nine-year journey dedicated to transforming lives through education. My career has been based in working in areas of high deprivation, where the need for quality education is most pronounced.
In my previous setting , I've focused on supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL), recognizing the importance of inclusive and tailored approaches to meet the diverse needs of every learner. As the Head of Maths and a certified Maths Specialist with a MaST (Maths as a Specialist Teacher) qualification, I have a passion for making mathematics accessible and engaging.
My professional growth has seen me take on leadership roles, being an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and successfully completing both the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) and the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL). These experiences have equipped me with the skills and insights to drive positive change within educational settings.
Beyond the classroom, I enjoy being creative with a sewing and textiles qualification. Whether it's numbers or the arts, my goal is clear: to give all kids a quality education, no matter their background.
On a personal note, I'm recently married, love exploring new places, and always have a book in hand. I believe every child deserves the chance to flourish. Let's build a future where every child reaches their full potential!
